Another incredible poem about real climate impacts and the people on the front lines of this crisis from Filipino-American poet Isabella Borgeson of Spoken Word for the World. Isa has dedicated this poem to the city of Tanauan. She also wishes to give credit to Merlie Alunan, whose poem inspired this writing.

For the Spoken Word for the World Competition: On November 8, 2013, super typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda) hit my mother's hometown of Tanauan, Leyte in the Philippines. I moved back to Tanauan one month after the typhoon to help my mother rebuild our home, and stayed for the next 2 years working as a community organizer on relief/rehabilitation projects throughout Region VIII.
